Hello again from AxeMasters. We’re very happy to offer a Bone nut for Fender that incorporates both our Compensation and SB Concept technologies.  We’ve developed these ideas thru experience.  And they work.
1)  Compensation – guitar intonation is an often overlooked procedure which, when done properly, helps you get each string properly tuned. This means that your guitar sounds great regardless of whether you’re fretting or playing open chords. How many times have you been playing, sounding great, when you move into an open C chord and suddenly the tuning sounds terrible?  A properly compensated nut will fix this.
The three treble strings are typically the most bothersome
. Who knows why, they simply are. So, we’ve specially slotted our compensated nut at the G, B and high E nut slots. By removing material to the proper depth in those three slots, the scale length for those strings is increased just enough. Now, even if your bridge saddle travel is nearing it’s end, you’ll can still get the intonation “just right”

2)  Bone – bone is a wonderful nut material for two primary reasons – it’s tough as nails and it adds a certain “warmth” to your tone.  The typical stock plastic nut should always be replaced with either Bone or Brass.  Remember this – Bone for warmth, Brass for sparkle.
3)  SB Concept – we place 5 saw-cuts halfway between each string slot.  This acoustically isolates each string. You get a richer tone and more punch from each string.
Our flat-bottom nut is hand ground and sanded from solid cow bone and round-slotted for perfect string placement. All hand-made – no machines. Very attractive brushed surface finish. Length 1.65″, height .19″, thickness .12″, slot spacing 1.375″.
